Minos Liu is a designer and maker. She likes to create home accessories that can bring joy to the eyes. She also enjoys exploring both experimental and experiential designs that discuss popular social issues.
She is currently a senior in designed objects department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her works are often inspired by her personal life of family and pets. Branching out from those personal inspirations, she continues to speak about larger issues. Her designs usually involve high quantity of research and focus on process.
Minos prefers to make her designs by hand. Being surrounded by technologies that can help producing designed objects in easier matter, she at times utilizes those technological resources. However, she enjoys the delicate process of hand making.
She had worked with various range of materials such as resin, acrylic, glass, wood, and metal. She is continuously exploring different materials in order to bring more possibilities and excitement into her future designs.
